I just hop to Adrian’s blog moments ago. What I read was seriously wrong. I mean seriously, what on earth is wrong with bringing your kids to watch some movie? How many movies are there on TV that is 18SX, 18PL, 18 whatever… and kids are still watching it, no?

Find, some might say, it’s your home, you can do whatever you like. This is public and we do not allow people below 18 to watch. It’s just plain dooohhhh to me. I mean, why the hell do you censor the movie in the first place? Since you clasify a movie is good for persons above 18, then don’t censor it la since no kids will watch it anyway.

The way I look at it, the guidance is only for parental discretion and if the parents consent to it, I do not see what the problem is. Something is seriously wrong with our censorship in Malaysia.

Overseas, inappropriate contents are censored when broadcasted in public. When the content is aired from a DVD, it does state parental discretion but does not censor the content. It is the parents’ responsibility to limit the content to their kids. I can only understand censorship of nudity but not censorship of kissing and hugging? Common, people don’t know how to kiss and hug mer?

Now, preventing kids below 18 from watching Fast and Furious 4? All I can say is, REDICULOUS!

I am sure by now, most of you would have heard of the advertisement on the radio about how we are always so courteous when it comes to queuing up, you know, giving way to older people, letting woman with small children go first, etc. When it comes to giving way on the road, we honk and refuse to give way to other motor vehicles.

Anyhow, that was how the advertisement went. As much as it does make sense, I beg to differ and I just think this isn’t the way to solve the problem. We must get to the root of why people aren’t giving way and being courteous when they are, in other circumstances.

Let’s see, people do not squeeze in front of you when they are queuing. If they did, you would have been pissed as well, no? Yet, on many occasions, you still give way willingly, why? Simply because we are doing it willingly and out of courtesy. I don’t know about you guys but I can’t seem to find it in me to be courteous, be it on the road or in a queue, when some ignorant idiots just cut in front of you. Somehow or rather, I feel they are not doing it unintentionally, but they just feel it’s alright to do what they are doing. They don’t seem to think it’s at all wrong.

At least queue cutting isn’t too bad in our country, but don’t even get me started on idiot drivers or cyclists. All I can say is they assume too much. Dude, as much as I want to anticipate all your possible idiotic actions on the road, it’s just impossible for me to anticipate all of them. One day, I am bound to hit into you, or rather, YOU hitting into ME! Now, that is the last thing I want happening, not so much because I care about your life, but rather, I care about mine and my families.

Then, we have idiotic motorcyclists who zig zag through the traffic, squeezing through any small space they can find in between and beside cars. Perhaps they do not know the danger associated with their riding attitude or perhaps they just can’t be bothered about their safety.

The next thing you know, when you get into an accident, people start screaming at you when in the first place, it was them who caused all these. When you honk these idiots, they will stare at you, probably will also give you the finger, and will make you feel like as if you did the utmost stupid thing. So much so that sometimes, you just feel like slapping them silly, or maybe next time just bloody knock them down, since it’s such a sin to honk at them.

Perhaps our driving school have not taught our drivers the proper way of driving. I shall leave teaching you guys some basic rule of thumb when you drive, at a later date. Let’s save that for another post.

Thank god, a few weeks later, I heard the advertisement to advise drivers and motorcyclists  not to cut queues. Otherwise, I am sure we have some stupendous people who just do not know what the main cause of all these courtesy going down the drain is. Anyway, I shall stop ranting now and you guys have a great weekend ahead.

Happy Chap Goh Mei

They say, this is the Chinese Valentine’s Day. So single girls go out and throw oranges into the river hoping that someone special will pick up their oranges and start hooking up with them. Is that how it works though? I myself am not too sure as I am only assuming it works that way.

Anyway, I am not doing any of those tonight and instead I have some work to complete. Being away in Labuan doesn’t help much either. Oh well, although I am not celebrating it, I wish you all out there a Happy Chap Goh Mei. Enjoy it, this is the last day of the Chinese New Year celebration and enjoy all you can. Gamble and light up the fireworks all you want because after today, you have to wait another year!
